Tampa Wedding Photography
The light on Tampa Bay at the end of an evening reception is something you don't get in most markets. The Gulf side faces west. When the sun goes down, it goes down over the water, and it turns the whole bay gold for about 15 minutes. Couples who plan their timeline right get portraits during that window. Couples who don't are disappointed.
We document weddings across Tampa, St. Pete, Clearwater, and the surrounding Gulf coast. The venues here span a real range: 1920s brick ballrooms in Ybor City, waterfront spaces on Bayshore Boulevard, beach-access properties in Clearwater, and botanical estate gardens in Safety Harbor. Each one needs a different approach. Ybor brick holds warm color and reads well with available light. Gulf-front venues have harsh midday sun and the best soft light after 5 p.m. We know the difference.
Tampa also has a bridge problem: traffic between Tampa proper and St. Pete on I-275 during event hours is unpredictable. We build that into travel time. We show up early.

[email protected]It's a real issue. I-275 across the Howard Frankland Bridge and the Courtney Campbell Causeway can add 30 to 45 minutes during evening rush on a Friday or Saturday. We account for it during timeline planning and leave early. If your ceremony is in Tampa proper and your reception is in St. Pete, or the other way around, we flag that in the planning call and build the buffer in. We've sat in that traffic; we don't assume it'll be fine.
Yes, with timing. If your ceremony ends by 6:30 p.m. during summer months, there's usually a window for golden-hour portraits before full dark. We coordinate with your planner or coordinator to carve out 15 to 20 minutes during cocktail hour for couple portraits. If your event is during winter, sunsets are earlier, sometimes 5:30 p.m., so that timing conversation happens in planning, not the day of. We'll tell you exactly when to step away from your guests.
Yes. Both sides of the bay are standard coverage. No extra travel fees for venues in Tampa, St. Pete, Clearwater, Safety Harbor, Dunedin, or anywhere in the greater Tampa Bay area. Farther south toward Sarasota or north toward Crystal River adds a fee. Ask us and we'll give you the exact number.
