Philadelphia Wedding Photographers
Philadelphia has a particular quality to its older architecture that you don't find in newer cities: the brick and stone of Old City hold light differently than glass and steel. A ceremony in a colonial-era church on Arch Street, a reception in a converted 19th-century ballroom near Rittenhouse, portraits on the cobblestones of Elfreth's Alley at dusk. These are real things you can do here that you can't do in most American cities. We cover all of it. We also cover the Main Line (Radnor, Wayne, Bryn Mawr) where estate venues sit on private grounds with formal gardens and indoor spaces that have been hosting receptions for a hundred years. The light inside a Main Line estate is different from the light in a South Philly loft. We prepare for each one separately. Philadelphia couples sometimes assume we're a New York-only studio. [email protected]Older Philadelphia venues (colonial churches, historic ballrooms, brick-interior lofts) tend to have two things working against easy photography: low ceilings and mixed light sources (tungsten chandeliers, candles, windows). We don't fight the existing light with heavy flash. We expose for what's there, adjust white balance per space, and use off-camera lighting only when the existing light genuinely won't hold. The result looks like the venue actually looked that night, not like a studio set. We scout the indoor spaces beforehand, especially for evening receptions where the candle and chandelier mix is the whole atmosphere.
Yes. Wayne, Radnor, Bryn Mawr, Villanova, and the surrounding Main Line communities are covered without additional travel fees. Many Main Line venues are estate properties with private grounds, and we work with your venue coordinator to understand access, timing, and any grounds restrictions before the day. Day-of scouting is part of our standard process.
Photography starts at $1,299, videography at $1,499, and collections (photo + video together) at $1,999. Philadelphia and the surrounding area (Old City, Center City, the Main Line, and beyond) is included in standard rates. No separate Pennsylvania travel surcharge. Coverage hours and team size determine final pricing. Most Philadelphia weddings run 8 to 10 hours. We also cover smaller ceremonies and intimate weddings.
