Wedding Photography on the Eastside
Bellevue weddings tend to run polished. At the venues here (waterfront rooms on Lake Washington, manicured garden estates in the Bridle Trails area, high-ceilinged ballrooms downtown), expect a team that knows how to move quietly and stay out of the way. We do. We show up before guests arrive, figure out where the afternoon light lands, and plan around it.
The Eastside gets a wide range of light. Summer ceremonies at Woodmark Hotel can push golden hour past 8 p.m. on Lake Washington, which is genuinely beautiful, but it also means reception lighting shifts fast as you move indoors. We shoot for both. Winter is a different story: cloud cover holds the light flat and even, good for portraits, and the ballroom venues around downtown Bellevue are warm enough indoors that the cold outside doesn't matter.

Most full-day Eastside weddings run 8 to 10 hours. Travel within Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, and the immediate Eastside is included. Woodinville and farther-out destinations are still included with our standard packages, with no travel fee add-ons. Get in touch and we'll put together a few options that match your timeline.
Wildfire smoke in August and September is real in the Pacific Northwest, and Bellevue is not exempt. We watch the air quality forecast in the days before the wedding. Haze can actually create some beautiful, soft diffused light for ceremony photos, which is not always a problem. For portraits, we'll adjust to work with available light and identify indoor backup options at the venue if smoke is heavy. It's worth discussing with your venue coordinator early; most Eastside venues have indoor contingency plans.
Woodinville wine country (Chateau Ste. Michelle, Willows Lodge, Swiftwater Cellars, and the surrounding properties) is part of our regular Eastside coverage area. The light there in summer evenings is excellent. Barn-adjacent structures and outdoor tent setups are common, and we know how to work with mixed indoor/outdoor transitions as the evening moves from ceremony to reception.
